Project Untether is inspired by the fact that "More people have access to the internet than water." Currently, the water crisis is being solved in an approach involving the production of resources that are then distributed from point-sources to various surrounding towns and villages. This results in several people not being touched by these resources, and a lack of clean water continues to be a major problem in their day-to-day lives.
Through research, I came across the Moringa oleifera seed, a natural coagulant that removes mud and other contaminants from contaminanted water. Looking at the locations this plant species thrived, it was strikingly visible that these regions were also locations that suffered from the lack of clean drinking water. Information was the only thing necessary to empower these regions to create their own potable water. Like this seed, there are several natural DIY water purification methods that can be put to use across the world. Project Untether aims to be a database of these methods for easy access and use by people in need. Our mission is to untether resources provided by nature through instructions for the betterment of humanity.
